About Us

Welcome to Oak Wood Primary & Secondary Schools website

I am privileged to be Head Teacher of Oak Wood Primary and Secondary Schools Multi Academy Trust.  We provide an education for young people aged 3 to 19 who have a wide range of special educational needs including profound, severe and moderate learning disabilities. A growing number of our young people have an autistic spectrum condition.

Together We Grow is at the heart of everything we do. This ensures each pupil receives the very best education and opportunities towards achieving aspirational goals. We pride ourselves in recognising the uniqueness of every individual within the school community. Learning is personalised to ensure that pupils grow in confidence and reach their full potential. This is achieved and supported through a dedicated and skilled team of staff and directors who ensure that pupils are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to progress to the next stage in their journey of life.

We are very proud of our extensive therapeutic, nursing and pastoral in-house team who provide a wide range of professional services to support the needs of individual pupils and their families and carers.

Our relationship with parents and carers is of the upmost importance and we strive towards forging strong links between school and home. Both schools provide a wealth of out-of-school opportunities including after school clubs and holiday play schemes for pupils as well as training opportunities for parents.  We believe that an outstanding education is very much dependent on working closely with parents and carers towards achieving the very best outcomes for pupils.

If you would like more information on the school I would encourage you to contact us and arrange a visit.

I very much look forward to meeting you.

George Smith, Head Teacher
