School staff offer a variety of support opportunities such as learning experiences in the form of APT (Autism parent Training), Triple P parenting courses and early bird training. Referrals can also be made to other agencies such as SEND social care, CAMHS and sleep support, if you are unsure what support you require staff are available to talk to and this can be explored with you.
What age does the school go up to?
The Schools provision currently runs from nursery up to post 16 (up to 19 years of age). Post 16 pupils complete NCSE maths, English and personal social development at entry levels that they are working to. They also look at employability skills through enterprise, work experience placements and skills such as letter writing and form filling.
What facilities does the school have?
The school has a wide range of facilities to support our pupil’s development. These include; a hydro pool, a sensory room, interaction rooms, science lab, GEM building (life skills), a nurture provision, rebound therapy, sensory garden, forest school, Astroturf pitch, Lego therapy, outdoor play areas, nurses on site, employability skills, bike-a-bility. Pupils also attend offsite trips to access further provision to support their learning, some of these include; cross country competitions, swimming, gym etc.
How can I get involved?
The school has a variety of fund raising events throughout the year which all parents/carers are invited to. We also have the Oak Wood community group which runs once a month which offers the forum for parents/carers to come into school and get to know other parents, we have a variety of outside agencies that attend the group to offer you new experiences as well as fun activities to engage with. We also offer opportunities throughout the year for you to become involved in your child’s education such as; events in the forest school, Christmas concerts etc.
After school provision?
Oak Wood have an after school club that runs on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening from 3:15-6:00pm, however you can choose how long you feel is suitable for your child to stay. During some of the school holidays we also run a play scheme which runs from 10:00-2:00pm. Please contact School for further details.
Are there any activities/groups in the local community that I can attend with my children in term time and the holidays?

Can school help with forms?
School staff can support with forms or referrals to other agencies but these would need to be completed alongside you in order to give a perspective from home and school of your child.
